fabulous friday?
Good Friday! Seeing other people updating all day has made me want to update. I only have a couple things for this entry anyway.
I would like to encourage everyone to go give "Love You From Me Boutique" a visit! It is Located on Keavy road in the little shopping center on the left, about .5mi past Lowe's! They have ADORABLE clothing for a decent price. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Love-You-From-Me-Boutique/399540916812292 <--there's their facebook. I love to promote local businesses, such as my own photography business. I know how much word of mouth can help. :-) Best advice I can give you for this store though is to keep a quick eye out on their page for new shipments, and CALL FAST to hold your purchase for pickup or delivery. They will take a payment over the phone and even ship for free. I got my order in about 2-3 business days when I ordered from there once. They are super nice, but swamped with customers, so you have to be quick :) I love the things I have gotten from there so far.
Moving along... I cleaned my makeup brushes tonight. With a mixture of EVOO and dish soap ( http://www.beautybooklove.com/2012/12/how-to-clean-your-makeup-brushes-like.html ) got the idea from pinterest, imagine that. I can't think creatively on my own, now can I?
The dish soap is to clean, of course and I recommend antibacterial like the site says to keep germs at bay, since those can be a culprit for breakouts, and EVOO to maintain softness and shape of bristles. You'd be surprised what came out of them. Keep in mind, I used a "brush cleaning towelette" from Sally's not too long ago on the two brushes on each end. Left most one I use for blush, right most one I use for powder. The little shadowing brush hasn't been cleaned in its life. Neither has the $30 pro buffing brush 2nd from the left, ever, and it's used for foundation (I know I'm horrible, I've had it at LEAST 6 months). It had the least build up. So it just goes to show you, that you get what you pay for when it comes to makeup brushes. The blush/powder usage brushes had sooo much in them, even though I had cleaned them probably since I bought the buffing brush. You'd think foundation would stick more, but yet the expensive brush, held up better. That is one thing I will pay bigger money for in the long run is makeup brushes. Makeup itself, I only have a few guilty pleasures (Clinique Even Better foundation, Boi-ing industrial strength concealer, and De Slick makeup setting spray) all of which are from $20-30 each, and last over 6 months, some closer to a year.
One more beauty thing for today:
Calcium benzonite clay and ACV. Combine these two together ($10 for both approx.) and you can make one heck of a mud mask for your face, or I guess whatever else you wanna put it on. It pulls out impurities, and leaves the skin baby soft. I apparently have somewhat sensitive skin, from all of the harsh acne treatments I've been forced to try over the years, so I leave mine on for about 10 minutes. If you don't have sensitive skin, or any open acne blemishes, You can leave it on as long as you want. Its easy to wash off, just like washing dried mud off of your face. The ACV smells gross, but once you mix it with the clay, it doesn't smell for some reason. I don't have measurements, but you just mix it until you get a face mask like consistency. I have made over 20 masks from these two containers, and had probably that many go to waste because I made too much, lol. So its definitely paid for itself. The key for ME though is to not leave it on too long. You may notice a pulsating sensation while its drying. Personally I can't stand the way it feels when its drying, ick, can't move my face, I feel the need to immediately rip it off, lol! But its worth it. And if you're like me, I like to know what is in the things I am putting on my skin/in my body, especially when I am growing a tiny human in my belly.
(yes, I am pregnant again, I know I haven't officially announced that on here, but that entry is coming, along with a general life update).
I also recently posted on fb about a self-tanner, since I can't use the tanning booth at the current time. I have decided to go with "Fake Bake". Once I order that and use it a bit, I will review it here, for others to see so that you can try it if you wanna!
Anyway, that'll be it for today. Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
